This Privacy Policy explains how Motion by Maya ("Cue," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Cue mobile and web application (the "App"). Cue is a class-planning and teaching companion for yoga and movement teachers. By using Cue, you agree to this policy.

Cue is built local-first: your classes live on your device by default. Cloud features (account, sync, AI) are optional and only active when you choose to sign in.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information — if you create an account, your email address (and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier those services share with us). Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store them in plain text.
Your content — the classes, sequences, poses, cues, notes, reflections, and settings you create in the App. Your profile name (e.g., "Teacher") if you enter one.
Imported material — text or photos of class plans you choose to import for parsing.
Recordings — if you film while teaching, videos are saved on your device and, if you allow it, to your device's photo library. Recordings are not uploaded to Cue's servers.

Information collected automatically

Diagnostics — in production builds we use crash and error reporting (Sentry) to keep the App stable. This may include device type, OS version, and technical error data. It does not include your class content.
Connectivity status — we detect whether your device is online to manage sync.

Cue does not show ads, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. How we use your information

To provide core features: building, saving, teaching, and reflecting on classes.
To sync your library across your devices when you are signed in.
To power AI features you request (class generation, refinement, import parsing, photo transcription, reflection insights).
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
To respond to your support requests.

3. Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted providers to operate Cue. Each receives only the data needed for its function.

When you use an AI feature, the relevant content is sent through our backend to OpenAI for processing and returned to you. We do not use your content to train our own models. OpenAI processes data under its own terms and does not use API data to train its models by default.

4. Storage, location, and retention

Class data is stored on your device and, if you are signed in, in our cloud database hosted by Supabase. We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual classes at any time, and you can delete your entire account and associated cloud data from within the App (Settings → Cloud sync → Delete account), which removes your synced data from our systems.

5. Your rights and choices

Access & portability — your classes are always visible in the App; you can export class plans as PDFs.
Deletion — delete classes individually, or delete your whole account in-app at any time.
Use without an account — you can use Cue locally without signing in; cloud sync and AI simply stay off.
Permissions — camera, microphone, and photo-library access are requested only for filming while teaching, and can be revoked in your device settings.

Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, and the right to object. To exercise these, contact us at the email below.

6. Children

Cue is intended for adult teachers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect.

8. International users

Cue may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the App, you consent to such transfer where permitted by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App.
